Ketchup Mania, Yuu Asakawa & Showtaro Morikubo Break Up
The punk pop band ketchup mania has announced on its website this week that the members will disband. The band made its American debut at A-Kon 2007 convention in Texas, and has since performed at the SXSW Music Festival, the Japan Nite tour, and Sakura Con 2008. The band’s “Your World” song became an opening theme song for the Idaten Jump racing anime series. The band will still release two best collections on April 8 and perform three “Bad x 2 Gig Final: Sayonara Ketchup” concerts in Tokyo and Nagoya in early May.
Yuu Asakawa revealed in her blog on Wednesday that she and fellow voice actor Showtaro Morikubo have divorced, citing differences in personalities. Asakawa voiced the roles in Love Hina (Motoko Aoyama) and Azumanga Daioh (Sakaki), and she just won the role of the next Vocaloid 2 virtual singer, Megurine Luka. Morikubo sang the theme songs in several incarnations of the Rockman (Megaman) game and anime franchises. He also plays Shikamaru Nara in Naruto and the main lead Goro Shigeno in Major.
